2017 Men's Cross Country RecapPublished by
The men's cross country team continued its postseason excellence in the 2017 season, notching its eighth consecutive MAC Championship to become the first program since 1949-1956 (Miami) to claim the conference title eight years in-a-row. Led by redshirt senior captain Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge), who captured his first individual MAC Championship, the Eagles placed five student-athletes on the All-MAC team, had Owen Day (NRW, Germany-International School of Dusseldorf) earn Freshman of the Year, and saw Head Coach John Goodridge earn his 12th MAC Coach of the Year award. Additionally, Andresson paced the Green and White to a fourth-place finish in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, finishing as the runner-up and ultimately earning a bid to the NCAA National Championship race.
